Grace and Cole---this is Kate from New York and formerly of Cambridge. I wanted to encourage you to use salt in your event foods, even beginning the week before. I did this for the Ironman and it was very helpful. Also, peanut butter became a big part of my diet in training and racing. It really packs in the calories! It isn't so fun to cut this out after the race, but you do what you have to do! Good luck! Kate

Hi Blain, we are working with a great company called Fiskars (www.fiskars.com). One brand they own is called, Brunton (www.brunton.com). They also own Gerber Knives and Silva Compasses, among other brands. Brunton has some interesting solar chargers for iPods. I am enjoying reading everyone's journal -- thanks for writing. Mary
